Odessa Road Test Requirements According to Age

Drivers at least 16 years old must:

  • be in possession of a valid learner license for at least 6 months.
  • have completed an approved teen or parent-taught driver education course.
  • have completed the Impact Texas Teen Drivers (ITTD) course.

Drivers 18 to 24 years old must:

  • be in possession of a restricted driver license.
  • have competed the adult driver education course, or an approved teen or parent-taught driver education course.
  • have completed the Impact Texas Young Drivers (ITYD) course.

Drivers 25 or more years old must:

  • be in possession of a restricted driver license.
  • have completed the Impact Texas Young Drivers (ITYD) course.

Impact Texas Drivers Program

If you haven’t completed the Impact Texas Drivers course, it’s free and available through the Texas Department of Public Safety website: https://impacttexasdrivers.dps.texas.gov/. Choose the appropriate program for your age group. The 25+ age program is not available online yet, so you may choose the 18-24 test and your certificate will be accepted.

Scheduling Your Odessa Road Test Appointments

  • Find an available session below and click on the Register button.
  • Once you select a session, enter your name, phone number, email address, and billing information on the form.
  • Upload a copy your certificates for the completed driver education course and the Impact Texas Drivers course, along with a copy of your license.
  • Your session(s) will be reserved once you successfully submit payment. You’ll be sent a confirmation email with receipt for payment.

How much does the road test cost?

If I fail, when can I take the test again?

The remaining sessions for the day of your test will likely already be filled. You will have to select the next available session on the website to retest.

Do I need to have my own vehicle for the road test?

No. We will have a vehicle for you to use for the driving test.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel your session, please contact us as soon as possible to receive a refund. However, there will be no refund for no-shows or cancellations within 72 hours or less of the scheduled session.

Do you test in the rain?

Yes. We will only cancel if there is flooding in the area, which would make it unsafe to drive.

How quickly can I get my license once I pass the test?

You can get your license the next day the DPS driver license office is open. If you are under 18, you will need a verification of enrollment form from your school.
